Terms of Use

1. Accepting these terms

These Terms form an agreement between you and WorldRecipes.Exchange. By browsing, submitting a recipe, commenting, voting, reporting content, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Do not use the service if you do not agree.

2. Who may use the service

You must be able to form a legally binding agreement where you live. Children under 13 may not submit content or create an account. Additional age or parental-consent rules may apply in some locations.

3. Your content and ownership

You keep any ownership rights you have in recipes, writing, comments, and other content you submit. You confirm that you created the content or have permission to submit it, and that your submission and our permitted use of it will not violate another person’s rights.

4. Commercial licence to submitted content

When you submit content, you grant WorldRecipes.Exchange a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, translate, format, publish, display, distribute, promote, analyze, and otherwise use or commercialize that content in connection with the service, related products, advertising, marketing, research, licensed collections, datasets, and other business activities.

This licence lets us operate, improve, promote, and monetize the service without paying royalties unless we separately agree otherwise. It continues for content already shared, sublicensed, or incorporated into the service even if the original submission is later removed, to the extent permitted by law. It does not give us ownership of your personal information, which is handled under the Privacy Policy and applicable law.

5. Public and anonymous submissions

Recipes, comments, handles, scores, and submission times are intended to be public and may be indexed, copied, or shared by others. An anonymous label does not guarantee that a submission cannot be associated with technical information such as a visitor identifier or server record. Do not submit private, confidential, or sensitive information.

6. Community rules

Do not submit unlawful, threatening, hateful, deceptive, dangerous, infringing, privacy-invasive, malicious, or spam content. Do not manipulate votes, impersonate others, scrape the service abusively, or interfere with its security.

7. Moderation

We may review, label, edit for formatting, restrict, reject, restore, or remove content and may limit access when reasonably necessary to operate or protect the service. Reports do not guarantee removal, and we are not required to publish or retain any submission.

8. Advertising and monetization

The service may contain advertising, sponsored placements, affiliate links, paid features, licensed content collections, datasets, and commercial insights. Advertising or commercial relationships do not amount to an endorsement of a community submission and do not change a contributor’s responsibility for their content.

9. No professional advice or recipe guarantee

Recipes are community submissions provided for general information. We do not guarantee accuracy, food safety, allergen information, nutrition, cultural authenticity, availability, or results. Use appropriate judgment and follow authoritative food-safety and medical advice.

10. Service availability and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or permanent storage of submissions. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. To the extent permitted by law, WorldRecipes.Exchange is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use of the service.

11. Ending use and changes to the service

You may stop using the service at any time. We may restrict access or change the service when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, maintenance, or community protection. We may update these Terms and will identify the effective date. Material changes will receive additional notice where required by law.

12. Contact and governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without limiting rights that cannot legally be waived. Questions about these Terms may be sent to privacy@worldrecipes.exchange.
